Live captions for the calls you were locked out of.

Doctors, landlords, benefits offices — they all say “just give us a call.” Switchboard answers a normal phone number, captions the caller in your browser, and speaks what you type back to them in a real voice. No relay operator listening in, no business hours.

Modes are files. Caption, interpret, navigate and screen each live in src/modes/. Adding a mode is adding a file; the keypad menu and the pinned-mode path reach an identical state.
Uncertainty is shown, not hidden. A hearing person says “sorry, what?” a dozen times a day. Below 0.75 confidence, or when two guesses are within 0.1 of each other, the caption is marked and the alternatives are printed beside it.
One Worker, one Durable Object. Sessions snapshot to storage every turn and hydrate on wake, so an eviction between webhooks cannot hang up the call.
Vonage auth is 60 lines of WebCrypto. A hand-rolled RS256 JWT instead of the server SDK, because the SDK signs through node:crypto and the edge has none.
